Managing Dentist Practices: the Most Important Asset in Your Dentist Practice

Posted by | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 10-10-2009

I often ask people who are managing their dentist practices
: “What’s the number one most important asset within your dentist practice?”. In this article, I will share to you the most important asset in your dentist practice, which is probably one of the most overlooked and often the most misunderstood assets within your dentist practices as you are managing it. I will also explain to you why it is considered the most important asset that you have. Knowing these facts, you will be able to take good care of this asset as you go on managing your dentist practices… and this is something we focus specifically at our dentist practices website!

Now, going back to the question, “What’s the most important asset within your dentist practice?” People would say “Well, the doctor!”, while others would say ““The dental staff!”, and those are both wrong answers (and actually, nobody got the answer correctly!). The answer to my question is this: it is your patient base! And we call that your “herd” because you can keep going back to that herd, you want to nurture that herd, and you want to grow that herd as well… to have them establish a long-term relationship with you and your staff, and with your dentist practice. So, that’s one of your most important assets within your dentist practices as you are managing it.

The question is: Why is my patient base considered as the most important asset within my dentist practice?”. The reason is because, say for example, if your building or dental office burnt down today, so what happened is that all of your technology and everything was burnt down and crumbled to the ground (hopefully that never happens to you!) but let’s just say it did. As a solution, you could literally walk across the street, start up a shop tomorrow; and if you have a patient base, you will have appointments, you will have people to come in and you will have revenue coming in.. and you will be able to start managing your dentist practices again! Now, another thing is, for example, if the doctor have any experience where he/she can no longer work, well if they got a patient base, they can bring in another doctor or someone else who can actually do the dentistry, and the doctor can actually be the “master behind the scenes”, the business owner, and with this, they can still work!

With these facts, you can see that the technology you can replace, the staff you can replace, but the one thing that’s the most difficult to replace is the actual patient base! So that’s why you should consider it as the most important asset that you have in your dentist practices as you are managing it! So, take care, nurture, and grow your patient base, as it is the “lifeline” of your dentist practice!

Affiliate Marketing: A Couple of Things to Remember

Posted by | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 05-10-2009

A lot of times when people decide that they are going to start selling online, they decide to go into affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is an easy way to start making money online, and you don’t have to create your own product. While researching affiliate marketing opportunities, be sure to keep these two things in mind.

Research the person’s product online. It’s easy to check out Google for the product to see if there are any reviews of the product. You wouldn’t want to promote someone’s product that is getting terrible reviews, would you? Personally, I wouldn’t promote something that I wouldn’t buy myself.

Always think about the commissions you can make. This is one of the most important things you need to keep in mind, you really want to think about how much you can make from this affiliate opportunity. For example, if you find a product that offers a 50% commission per sale you need to look at how much the product is that you are selling. If the product is only $1 and you get 50% commission, you will only be making $0.50. But if the product is $40, you would be getting $20 per sale. Always carefully read the rules/regulations that are outlined for your potential earnings so that you are not surprised later on when you get your affiliate check.

Thank you for taking the time to read my article about affiliate marketing. I hope that you find these tips helpful while you are researching affiliate marketing opportunities for yourself.

Brand Recognition and do you have any?

Posted by | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 29-09-2009

How do you know if you have Brand Recognition?

Do you customers talk about your product or company name without being asked? If so you have brand recognition. It is really about sticking out in your buyers mind. Such as when you think of what car you are going to buy. Which vehicles stand out, or which ones are you drawn to first.

Ideally you are trying to achieve brand loyalty but you can actually have positive or negative brand recognition. And it can change over time. So if your business does something for the community you will be shown in a positive way. However if attract some press attention due to poor customer service or refund policy that earlier positivity toward your brand can fade.

How to focus on your branding

Branding starts from thinking of your brand experience and how you want people to feel about your company and offering. You also want some name recognition whether that be in your local community or online. So in order to focus on your brand remember to keep thinking of how you might be evaluated by your peers, customers, prospects, etc. If your next best customer walked into your store today would you treat them any differently. You probably couldn’t have predicted that person would later become your best customer when you first met them. Branding is developed over time to associate a premium product or service with your company name. Branding is also not something you can fake. If you are making claims about using the freshest ingredients and you are not, your customers will know.

The Levels of Brand Recognition

  1. Brand Rejection
    – is when you have a negative reaction to your brand. Your brand is recognized but in a negative way. And consumers will avoid your brand.
  2. Brand non-recognition
    – is when your brand is too new or has yet to be established (known for something)
  3. Brand Recognition
    – is when your brand is recognized. You are likely on the right track at this point. When making purchases consumers go with what they know, trust and prefer over a new brand they have never heard about before.
  4. Brand Preference
    – is when your brand connects with your buyer. And when given a choice they will prefer to stick with your brand/company/product.
  5. Brand Loyalty
    – is when there is a strong connection with your buyer. To the point where a few sour experiences will not make them jump ship and go with your competitors product. At this level your buyer feels comfortable and they are getting something of value that can not be easily replaced.

So after reading through this, do you have any Brand Recognition? Now you know which level you are at with your business.

How to Use Social Bookmarks as Part of Your Marketing Plan

Posted by | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 24-09-2009

Social bookmarks can be a very useful part of your overall online marketing plan, especially if care is taken in how they are used and not misused! The power of social marketing is undeniable, and with today’s consumers looking to their peers as authority as opposed to a random website they’ve never seen or heard of, your social marketing plan can reap great benefits as you will be more easily able to establish yourself as that authority they seek. Let’s look at some of the ways you can do this and what pitfalls to avoid.

Social bookmarks can be beneficial in several ways. You can use them to get backlinks, you can sometimes get direct traffic from the, especially if they are on popular sites, such as Digg, StumbleUpon and others. Readers who hang out on those sites, or better yet, search through them can find you under your chosen keywords and all of a sudden you have visitors that you not only didn’t have to spend a dime for, but who are also very targeted visitors, interested in exactly what you are promoting. You can’t ask for more than that.

The process of using social bookmarks as an integral part of your marketing plan is a bit longer and trickier. Since most social bookmarking accounts don’t carry a lot of weight in the search engines, you need to do more to get noticed. That’s why simply Digging your site or posting on Digg once won’t really do anything for you, unless you happen to have been the first to report some monumental news that is quickly picked up on. Getting on the home page of any social bookmarking site such as Digg, StumbleUpon or Mister Wong, to name a few, can indeed deliver many thousands of visitors in a very short amount of time. You need to have a coordinated strategy in place to have a consistent bookmarking of your pages by people other than you. For that to occur, you either need to have all the time in the world to do it yourself, or you need to outsource it to a third party.

A good social bookmarking service can deliver up thousands of bookmarks, all from different IP addresses all over the world, and with the keywords and anchor text you need featured present. This obviously can free you up to do more important things in your business.

While it’s important to garner more than a few bookmarks to make a dent in your marketing plan, you would be wise to make sure to avoid becoming an obvious spammer, and shoot your campaigns in the foot before they really get rolling. Obviously the best way to get the most from your social bookmarks is to create really good content that people will actually want to bookmark. This aids you enormously. Simply spamming the Web with many thousands of bookmarks will have only short term effectiveness, and will likely get your accounts banned. With a little care and prudence you can avoid this!

Information Marketing: Steps to a Six Week Training Program

Posted by | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 19-09-2009

As an Information Marketer, creating a new product while working with limited amounts of time can be a challenge.  For fastest results use the six week training program that can be implemented using only a few hours a week.

As the President of the Information Marketing Association, I host a monthly coaching call for info-marketers who have questions and are trying to launch their infopreneur business.  Here is a question from Nina in Las Vegas, Nevada about the steps and time necessary to create a six week teleseminar series.  Since this is a common question, I decided to prepare an article about this challenge to help you.

When you start setting up your new coaching program, the first thing you want to do is create a format that will interest your customers. This is why the six week training series is an excellent tool. I prefer to use teleseminars, but if your customers happen to be local, you can deliver it in person.  It is usually more personal to do a live conference, but if you feel more comfortable about it, stick with the teleseminar.

The only thing you need to start with is a simple flyer. It should be a simple one-page thing you can send to people and just get out there to advertise your program. Your flyer should include a catching headline and probably a short description of each of the lessons you are going to be offering. Bullet point or short paragraphs work just fine. I would go ahead and mention that when they buy the course you will give them the entire thing on CD. There will always be the people who won’t join your program based on a conflict for one of the dates and if the entire thing is available on CD, this conflict won’t serve as a deterrent from joining your program.

The next step is to develop your program. Personally, I find it easiest to make it into a workshop format. Maybe you speak for about an hour then lead them through an exercise to get them started in whatever you have been teaching on for about 15 to 20 minutes or so. The first session is easy enough to do. Start by giving examples of what other people are doing and show them the power that marketing has, not just locally, but internationally. After you are finished, you can ask for feedback. If you are doing your program locally, you can even go around the room asking questions such as, “Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you would like to get out of this course?” and “What is your top question about this?” After you ask the questions and get the answers, you have the feedback that you were hoping for and then you can build the rest of the classes as you go.

What you will probably want to do is on week two or three, offer personal coaching.  The way you position this is by saying “You know, quite a few of you have asked me if there is a way that you and I could work directly.  As you know working with clients, they can have access to all the books and all the videos that are out there, but really working with a personal coach makes a big difference for them. I think I could be that coach for your business. So because you’ve asked for it, I’ve created this program.  It may not be for everybody, but if you’re having trouble getting some of this implemented and you need some more help, this is the program that I’ve put together.” After you present this, you outline how you will coach them personally in order to get this done. I would keep the pitch to less than 5 minutes and present it in weeks three, four, five and six.

Recording your program isn’t too complicated either. At Radio Shack, they have little Olympus brand mp3 recorders. They are about 150 dollars, so they aren’t cheap, but are worth the investment. The other thing that you may want to consider is a microphone.  They have microphones that clip to the lapel of your shirt and have a cord attaching to the mp3 recorder so you can record directly into it. If you sell this program for 200 or 300 dollars a person, which is pretty inexpensive for six sessions, once you get your first 2 or 3 customers, you’ll have made back everything you spent on the recording devices. You’re really only looking for maybe 15 to 20 people in your session and 5 to 10 people in your personal coaching program.  That figure gets you from zero to making a little bit of money.  And you’ll have a product in the can.  If you create handouts or anything like that for your training session, they now become handouts for your product.

Time wise, I would try to find a couple of hours on a weekend to create your flyer and layout your outline. It may seem unimaginable for those of you who are already stretched to breaking point, but look at what your upfront time commitment is to create this program. It’s a flyer that has the marketing for your seminar and the price.  The seminars may take you three or four hours to prepare and an hour to give, but after four or five hours and now you have a product.  You do that for three weeks and now you’re pitching your coaching program.

There have never been greater, more diverse, more lucrative opportunities for everyone—experienced, successful entrepreneurs to rank beginners—in the field of information marketing. If you can name a topic, there is a market for providing information about it. People buy information about almost everything—from hobbyist topics like dog training, to business topics like how to sell over the telephone, to self-improvement topics like fitness walking. The key is to find a responsive market and then package information that customers want in convenient forms such as DVD’s, books, e-books, CD’s, magazines, websites, teleseminars, webinars, coaching programs, seminars, and conferences.

A Day In The Life Of An Affiliate Marketer by Fran Harris

Posted by | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 17-09-2009

Being in the affiliate marketing business is not that hard now with the internet at your disposable. It is much easier now compared to the days when people have to make use of the telephones and other mediums of information just to get the latest updates on the way their program is coming along.

So with technology at hand, and assuming that the affiliate is working from home, a day in his or her life would sound something like this…

Upon waking up and after having breakfast, the computer is turned on to check out new developments in the network. As far as the marketer is concerned there might be new things to update and statistics to keep track on.

The site design has to be revised. The marketer knows that a well-designed site can increase sign ups from visitors. It can also help in the affiliate’s conversion rates.

That done, it is time to submit the affiliate program to directories that lists affiliate programs. These directories are means to attract people in joining your affiliate program. A sure way of promoting the affiliate program.

Time to track down the sales you are getting from your affiliates fairly and accurately. There are phone orders and mails to track down. See if they are new clients checking the products out. Noting down the contact information that might be a viable source in the future.

There are lots of resources to sort out. Ads, banners, button ads and sample recommendations to give out because the marketer knows that this is one way of ensuring more sales. Best to stay visible and accessible too.

The affiliate marketer remembered that there are questions to answer from the visitors. This has to be done quickly. Nothing can turn off a customer than an unanswered email.

To prove that the affiliate is working effectively and efficiently, inquiries would have to be paid more attention on. Nobody wants to be ignored and customers are not always the most patient of all people. Quick answer that should appear professional yet friendly too.

In the process of doing all the necessities, the marketer is logged on to a chat room where he or she interacts with other affiliates and those under that same program. This is where they can discuss things on how to best promote their products.

There are things to be learned and it is a continuous process. Sharing tips and advices is a good way of showing support. There may be others out there wanting to join and may be enticed by the discussion that is going on. There is no harm in assuming what opportunities ahead.

The newsletters and ezines were updated days ago, so it is time for the affiliate marketer to see if there are some new things happening in the market. This will be written about in the marketer’s publication to be distributed to the old and new customers.

These same publications are also an important tool in keeping up to date with the newly introduced products. The marketer has put up a sale and promotion that customers may want to know about. Besides, they have to keep up with the deadline of these sales written in the publications.

It is that time to show some appreciation to those who have helped the marketer in the promotions and sale increase. Nothing like mentioning the persons, their sites and the process they have done that made everything worked.

Of course, this will be published in the newsletters. Among the more important information that have been written already.

The marketer still has time to write out recommendations to those who want credible sources for the products being promoted. There is also time to post some comments on how to be a successful affiliate marketer on a site where there are lots of wannabees.

Two objectives done at the same time. The marketer gets to promote the product as well as the program they are in. Who knows, someone may be inclined to join.

Time flies. Missed lunch but is quite contented with the tasks done. Bed time….

Ok, so this may not be all done in a day. But then, this gives you an idea of how an affiliate marketer, a dedicated one that is, spends the marketing day.

Is that success looming in the distance or what?
